  • 1.  Including and Excluding Clients From Weekly Summary Report

    Posted Nov 07, 2012 10:05 AM

    Hi Folks

I have been looking at adding filters to the Executive Weekly Summary Report in Symantec Endpoint Small Business Edition 12.1.1101.401.

The scenario is, within a network with 20 client computers one of these is only powered on once per calendar month.

Could anyone advise the best and most efficient filter setup to allow for this?

Can I create many filters to apply to one report for example?

Any help would be greatly received.

    Regards

    Andrew

You can edit your report and adjust the filters like below:

    Hi Brian

Thanks fo supplying the screen shot. I have navigated to this screen but I was wondering, can you use the filter to exclude a PC and also in the IP column does it accept a range of IP addresses and if so how is this entered?

    Thanks again.

I don't believe you can exclude. You would need to add each pc name separated by a comma and just exclude the one(s) you don't want.

I've never tried entering a range so I'm unsure.

You can use the wildcard character question mark (?), which matches any one character, and the asterisk (*), which matches any string of characters. So you can try playing with this.

    Perhaps like 10.10.*.* or 10.10.10.0/24

But again, would need to test.

I couldn't get exclusions to work. I tried not, not like, <>, and !=. None of those work

So what I would do is create a separate group for that computer, put it in that group, and filter the report to run for all of the other groups.

The only wildcards I know of are "*" and "?"

Yes than this way you select a group for the filter so that should work.
