index service is hanging when stopping , After restarting, for some reason, it still try to stop the service

When I stop the EV services, Index service is hanging as "stopping". got "timeout to stop". finally, EV terminated the service ( I guess not gracefully )
And, I started the service. For some reason.. It still generate the event log ( timeout to stop). looks like it still try to stop even if it is started.
The index service is still running and can search items.
However, change the index to backup mode script thinks the server is not running.
I think It should not try to stop once it started, could be bug of EV 8.0 SP1 ?

check following
HI Evuser,
Try to find the Indexes that are failed i.e.from Admin console - Right click Archives - click Failed - click Find.
then if any failed index click on rebuild and say rebuild.
It will take some time
Other thing is check the disk size, free space for vault store.
That may be one of the issue
