When new IndexServer.exe processes are started by search requests or to update archive indexes, they are not being deleted.
I ran a dtrace while archiving a single uses mailbox and the status went from Usable to Being-Deleted to Unusable.

I’ve worked with Symantec Tech support on this but the only solution they have come up with is to reinstall the OS. I’d like to avoid this if at all possible. Anyone seen this before?

Hi,

What release and service pack of EV are you running?

What's the case reference number?

Previous Symantec case

Previous Symantec case numbers are 411-419-059 and 312-234-648.

I'm running EV 8.0 SP3, File version 8.0.3.1845

A reinstall of EV was done but it didn't fix the issue. Symantec support is out of ideas and suggested an OS reinstall.

Hi,

Have you tried moving the indexes to a different location (temporarily).  To see if it's somehow device related?

Yes, the indexes were moved

Yes, the indexes were moved from d:\ (internal disk) to e:\ (external SCSI storage) but the issues continue.
