    hi,

you cannot install software in safe mode.

check the reason for blue screen, fix it and then install SEP

Why are you installing SEP in safe mode ? You can use NSS and scan using USB. Or you can create Rescue bootdisk.

We are getting blue screen error when we login to windows normally. So,we are unable to install SEP.We are able to boot into safe mode but not in a normal way blue screen error is interrupting the process.

We have done troubleshooting regarding the problem and unable to find a solution.finally tried to repair the current windows. But still couldnot because it is stopping at some point..

So,we replaced the current windows folder with a new one and started the process of cleaning the laptop.

Regarding the rescue disk.. are you talking about Endpoint recovery tool which is available?

In the process of scanning many files are showing to be Quarantined. Can we delete them so that they dont effect the system. Is really all the Quarantined files are malicious?

May be or may not;you can delete that

to intall any software you need to first enable ms installer in safe mode.

    Boot into Safe Mode.

    2. Create the following registry <nobr id="itxt_nobr_13_0" style="color: rgb(43, 101, 176); font-weight: normal; font-size: 13px; ">key</nobr> (it won't exist by default, so create this new key):
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SafeBoot\Minimal\msiserver

(If you also want it available in Safe Mode w/ Networking, add the "msiserver" key under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SafeBoot\Network\ key found here as well)

    3. Edit the "(Default)" value in the new "msiserver" registry key, and enter "Service" in the "Value Data" box. Click OK, and close the registry editor.

    4. Reboot back into Safe Mode, and the Windows Installer service should now run and allow you to add or remove programs in Safe Mode.

If it is the scanning of the computer that you are looking for then you can use Symantec Endpoint Recovery Tool (SERT)

If the file is quarantined then it removed..then you can change the action to Delete or manually delete the quarantined files
