This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi everyone,

I have the PocketPc ( symbol MC35, windows Mobile 5.0, OS 5.1.422 (build 15633.3.2.0), Processor PXA270 416MHz, Memory 64MB), I tried to install Altiris Agent, and though I see in the "program files" the "Altiris" folder, don't register the device in the console. I modified the registry key that activates the agent, but I don't see the icon, I search the procedure for the install agent but I don't find nothing.

I need inventory this devices.

Any idea that solve this problem?

thank you.

Greetings!!

Documentation?

Did you have a look at the Altiris Inventory Solution for PocketPC documentation?  I only installed the Inventory for PPC once and never in production; I think it creates some PPC-specific collections you can use to easily find the machine and open the Resource Manager for it.  ALso you'll need to dock it and allow ActiveSync to run to upload the inventory I believe.

Symantec does have a new Mobile Management product in the works and PocketPC will be the first platform supported.  From what they showed at ManageFusion last April, this will include OTA management of the devices, so no need to dock.

Thanks,

OTA with Handheld Management

The current Handheld products (Inventory and Software Delivery) will work over the air if the device can resolve to the NS. We'll make it much better with our upcoming Mobile Management 7.0 release, but it works with the current product.

Thanks

Hi,

Thank for all, I found the problem, the device did not resolve the server name,
I changed in the registry key (in the PocketPC), in the server option, the name of the Notification Server by IP Server, and the problem was solved.

Greetings!!!
