    working with a 2008 R2 enterprise server.

    What would cause this machine to show up in the SEPM with a issue icon (little arrow and the red X) and state the install was failed, rolled back, but the client once i log into it is running SEP with a green dot and no visable issues to speak of. I tried deleteing the object from SEPM but when it re-populates it is no different.

    Any suggestions besides reinstalling it? I can't reboot this server until Friday night when i get a maint window.

    Was it an upgrade or fresh install? Is it running the version you installed?

    What version (client/SEPM)? I've seen and experienced this before so I'm curious as to the version.

    Can you enable sylink debugging and let it run thru a few heartbeats and post the log here for review?

    1. Browse to \Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\data\outbox\agentinfo

    2. Look for any .err files or tmp files & Dat files

    do you see any?

    Hi Brain, when I go to turn on debugging, the reg value won't allow me to save it, says error writing the values contense ..  i'm running as an admin, and i am a member of a group that has admin access to all servers including this one.

     

    When I browse to: \Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\data\outbox\  - I see a agent folder, but no agentinfo folder. Agent folder just looks like a temp file folder with long filesnames and folders named random numbers and letters.

    You need to disable tamper protection first :)

    that last sentance in the article would've been helpful to read:  "If Tamper Protection was disabled, it should be enabled again."... lol

    So, this was an upgrade from an earlier version of 12 to 12.1.4... I expected it to be ready for a reboot, not in the state i described earlier...

    Here is the sylink.log file, i see this one line that stands out: Unable to cleanup Client Package download folder. Error: 2

    Nothing exists past: 

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\12.1.4013.4013.105\      - path ends here, no Download folder presnt

    Did you reboot, found this
