Install failing

    Ok,

So one of my coworkers did something to another machine here, and SEP had to be uninstalled and reinstalled.

And now the reinstall is failing.  At first, I thought it was a root certificates issue like I had before, so I made sure to put those on here, but that didn't work.

I've attached the SEP_INST log file, and hoping this can be sorted quickly.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    What's the exact version here?

It's returning a 1603 error, did you try cleanwipe?

May also want to post the SIS_INST.log file as well.

    Did you try cleanwipe?

Giving that a try right now.  I'll let you know how it goes.

Cleanwipe ran successfully, but SEP still won't install.

And you did ensure it wasn't due to the root certs?

Try creating a new package with just the basic content and see if it will install.

Other option is to try an unmanaged version with AV component only and if it installs you can add the remaining components.

99% certain it isn't root certs.  I've run that executable three times (though it never returns anything, so I suppose I can't be certain it's running correctly).

This is unmanaged SEP, but I'll try just the AV component and see what happens.

AV component only still failed.  SEP_INST log for just that attached.

If there's an SIS_INST.log file, post that as well.

After running cleanwipe you may need to do a search of the file system and registry for any leftover remnants. I've found cleanwipe doesn't completely remove everything.

Any idea what/where I should be looking for?

I can't just randomly start deleting things.

HKLM/software/symantec and usually c:/programdata Its only going to be related to Symantec

    Something in there got it.

Thanks, man.  I seriously owe you a Starbucks card.  But, again, I think you'll settle for getting marked as the answer.  :)
