Symantec Management Platform (Notification Server)

Hi, we want to start installing SMA on our servers, but with only the inventory plugin. This means I need to modify the target of each plugin install policy to exclude the built in filter "Windows Servers" right? (I've actually cloned "Windows Servers" and added a new filter for Windows Server 2012). I started doing this for Arellia, Recovery Agent, but the Deployment Plugin Install policies won't let me edit the target, so I'll need to add a new target using "Computers without Deployment Plugin installed".
Is there an easier way to do this? It must be quite common.

Why you just can't disable the all other plug-in policies and leave only inventory plug-in policy enabled?

We still need other plug-ins to install on workstations (Arellia, Deployment, pcAnywhere etc).
I got it working as required, but quite a few of the targets had to be deleted and similar ones created since I couldn't edit the default targets on some. Some were as easy as just adding a new rule to the target to exclude computers in my new filter.
So is there a better way to install SMA on all computers, but exclude most of the plug-ins from Servers, but let them still intall on Workstations?

Anyway you need to play with targets to configure the needed schema.  About targets which cannot be edited, I can suggest the workaround:

• For example open "Deployment Plug-in for Windows (x86) - Install" policy
• Copy or remember the Target's name of this policy ('Computers without Deployment Plug-in installed on Windows (x86)')
• Click on Apply-to -> Computers
• In "Select Computers" window click on "Open" button
• Find the Target's name from p.2 and apply it.

Now you have editable target with the same structure  as in 'Computers without Deployment Plug-in installed on Windows (x86)'

Default target might be deleted from policy.

Now I just need to restrict the servers so only members of "Symantec Administrators" can run tasks on them. I'll search for that now.
