  • 1.  Install Symantec Web Gateway on monitoring mode

    Dear Friend,

    I want to install Symantec Web Gateway on Monitoring mode. We have following configuration .

    1.  ESXI server installed on Web Gateway applince.

    2.  Symantec Web Gateway OVF installed on ESXI server.

    3.  Porte is Mirrir on network switch.

    So please guide me what i can do after these activity.

    Hi Baljeet,

    Depending upon the requirement and network topology, we can install SWG VM in following monitoring mode,

    1) Tap Monitoring

    2) inline Monitoring

    3) proxy Monitoring

    4) inline + proxy monitoring

    Which monitoring, you would like to install...

    You will need to have a dedicated phsyical nic to the monitor port on the SWG VM, then that NIC will need to be connected to the span/tap port on your network switch. The span/tap port on the network switch may need to be configured on the switch.
