Windows server 2008 32 bit 4GB RAM
Sql express 2008
domain controller: MyDomain
Server name: MyServer

I first tried installing sp1 over 6.9 install, but kept getting error message:
Windows Title: axinstall

Message: Error authenticating user MyDomain\deploy on MyServer. Please check your user name and password before continuing. You may already be connected to the computer with another user name and password.

I've reset the password for the user, logged on a network machine to verify username/password combination but the error persists. Tried changing name to the domain administrator, but still get the same error. My initial install was with Sql express 2005 only upgraded to 2008 express to see if that was the issue. Tried additional usernames, but continue to get the message. This is under both "Custom install" or "Simple Install".

The error that you are mentioning "You may already be connected to the computer with another user name and password" typically means that the exact machine that you are attempting to connect from may already have a mapped drive using a different username.

i.e. If I map a drive to a server with my normal credentials and then try to map another drive to the same server with a different set of credentials, it will fail as you can't log in more than once from the same host to the same server with different credentials.
