Installation issues BESR 8 on Win2003 64 bit sp2

Hi,

It seems the installation never completes and just sits there hanging near the end (at least it looks like it's near the end if the 'blue bar' is to be believed).

 

Running Windows 2003 64 sp2

 

I have tried running this on 4 new boxes all hang in the same place.

 

Any ideas?

Did you download the install files from FileConnect? If you did can you download another copy and try a new install?  Before the new install please download and run the follow uninstall batch file to make sure nothing was left from the failing installs. Only run the "BAT" file and not the "EXE" file from the download.

Hi, Unsure where the files originally came from as a colleague who has since left obtained them. Just to make sure I've run the uninstall batch file you were referring to, and rebooted as instructed. I then downloaded the BESR8 trialware from the Symantec download site and ran that.

Same problem. Installer hangs about 95% of the way through.

I may just log a job with Symantec.. i thought it could be an easy fix but perhaps not.

May want to attempt a slient install of BESR using its *.MSI from the INSTALL folder on the product install CD. More information can be obtained here: http://support.veritas.com/docs/297125
