  • 1.  Installation of PcAnywhere

    Posted Feb 04, 2016 12:17 PM

    Hello All,

    I have been asked to install PcAnywhere on 1000+ computers on one of our subsdairy company (on same domain) which does not have CMS the only thing they need is PcAnywhere so that our application teams can connect to the computers remotely and assist when needed. On a test computer I have tried to install PcAnywhere from our Altiris Servers (by push method) and when the sources are getting copied to (C:\windows\temp) I have managed to copy the .msi files and install it on another test computer, the installtion gets completed,  but the problem I face is I can connect to any host with my domain credentials but the other party cant, they get error "Invalid login" even though the id/password is correct.

    Any help / suggestion on how to complete this is much appericated.

    Regards

    Wert

    why are you not using the built in policy to push the agent? you must do this in 7.6 or it will not work plus add in the ad groups to manage the pcanywhere agent types

    Thank you for that, I was unaware. Could you please supply related documentation supporting that as well?

    PCAnywhere's support is officially ending (i.e. EOL) on March 1, 2016. That doesn't mean that it will stop working. It means that it won't be supported (if it breaks).

    @jvall_cae

    That's all I was saying, in case the OP didn't realize that.

    They're trying to install software that will no longer be supported as of next month.If accessing these machines is a business-critical issue they might want to direct their efforts towards a product that they will be able to use and get support on for more than a couple months.
