Hi,

    I am trying to install SEP 11 on Windows XP x64 and that is hanging.
    It installs for sometime and later hangs at that point.
    I have kept it as it in for more than a day to check - it just hangs!

    I had previously installed SEP and at that time LiveUpdate was hanging while trying to download updates.
    So, I just removed it and tried to reinstall.
    But, from then on installation has started giving problems!

    I searched the forum and saw that many people have gone thru this problem and tried to follow the steps given as resolution.
    So, I have tried to install LiveUpdate first and then SEP.
    I have tried to manually remove SEP by removing the files and the registry keys and then doing fresh installation.
    I have tried to install with Network disconnected.
    I have also installed the latest Windows installer for this system.

    But, none of these steps helped me in getting the SEP installed on Windows XP x64.

    I used the following page to remove the temporary files and install the latest LiveUpdate.

    Now I need your help to install SEP.

    Please suggest.

remove sep
remove liveupdate
open CD1
open sav-64 folder
install liveupate 
install sep

please attach the %temp%\SEP_INST.LOG file here,
This will help alot to guide you.

Under %temp%\SEP_INST.LOG do you see any error of "Return Value 3"(Without quotes)
