Installed Client machine not listing in SEPM

  • 1.  Installed Client machine not listing in SEPM

    Hi,

     

    I have installed a sep client 12.1 in one computer. Normally, the machine is listed in the default group of sepm but this machine is not listed in the default group. Tried uninstalling and installing the sep client but no help. please advice.

    i it installed in computer mode? does the client shows green dot? under help --->troubleshooting on client GUI , which group does it show? Also check the troubleshooting guide Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager 12.1 Communication Troubleshooting http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH160964

    Pete,

     

    it was installed in computer mode only. Also, i can see green dot on sep client. Also, under trouble shooting, it shows the staus as connected.

    Also under the troubleshhoting section, it is shown under a different group. But, the machine is not present in that group also..!!!\

    HI,

    Are your SEPM in AD Intergated ?

    Can you try replace sylink.xml ?

    can you search in SEPM console? is there any filter set for client view in SEPM console?

    Hi,

     

    No, we are not domain integrated. The suggestion by pete was helpful as i could find the group under which is listed. But , using the search client option, Iam unable to get thet machine is listed. I don't know why this is happening this way... Just got into the group and found that machine in the wrong group. the machine is online but shows "installtion failed, rolled back" though the machine has been successfully installed with SEP client with a green dot.

    Try to remove sep client in sepm Console and Check what status showing in sepm console.

    If i remove that particular sep client from the group in the sepm , that client will be removed from the list, Right ?

    Yes it's removed for sepm console and it's automatic reflect next heartbeat setting

    Hi,

     

    did update policy on client machine. Also, from the sepm console to the group in which sep client was listed from the "troubleshooting" page under the help option, that group was also updated from sepm console.

    After doing this, the client was listed in that group(different). I hope you could understand what i mean.

    Just want to know why is it listing "Installation failed, rolled back" in the sepm console even though it is properly installed as can be seen from the client machine.

    Could you post the SEP_INST.log from the %temp location on one of these clients - this should tell us more. Beside have a look here:

    Do you have the autoupgrade package still assigned to that group? - try removing it.

    did you had set autoupgrade for this client? what version of SEP is it running? when you had exported the package which preffered group had you selected?

    I selected the default group. We normally select it and once the clients are lsited in this group, they are moved to their corresponding groups.
