  • 1.  Installed SEP 12 RU4 Client on Workstation with Internet Access, Cannot get LiveUpdate Definitions

    I just installed SEP 12 RU4 client on a 64-bit Windows 7 Workstation that can connect to the Internet, but cannot receive LiveUpdate definitions.

     

    Control Panel is no longer an option in SEP 12.

     

    I opened the SEP 12 client > Change Settings > Client Management > Configure Settings > LiveUpdate tab > Configure Proxy Options

    And by default, "I want to use my Windows Internet Option proxy settings (default)" is selected.

     

    The user says they are going out to Internet through proxy, so why is this not working?

    Have you tried running LU manually? Does that not work?

    Try to run manually SEP live update

     C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\SepLiveUpdate.exe.

    do a repair from add/remove programs, for all the unmanged client, once the repair finishes, it will run the LU.

    Isn't the proxy settings established within the SEPM now? 

    Go to group machine is in select policy expand location specific settings click on External communication settings and in there you should be able to define the proxy details required.
