    Hi All,

Is anyone else experiencing this symptom: beginning June 26, all new Installation packages are no longer 400+ MB in size but are instead in the 40 MB to 60 MB range?

If so, have you been able to revert your system back to normal (producing normal packages) and, if so, how did you do it?

Did you select basic content only? Is this 12.1.4 MP1?

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

Could you provide more details on it. What steps are you performing to export new packages? SEPM version?

May be you are following this method

How to export Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) client install packages without any definitions or package with Basic Content.

I always use the console to export a package . Using all features except firewall - also then selecting the Full content option. Size of the package has been significantly reduced from 400-500MB to 175MB. Can Symantec investigate this? Both production and lab environments are same .

Thanks for the workaround by why did it happen now. We used to export packages regularly until last month- is Symantec going to resolve this now or do we have to wait for the NEXT release?

    Hi All,

The issue for us is that we always create installer packages the same way and one morning the packages just looked different.

As it turns out, Symantec has some explaining to do here because they implemented the change that brought this on. This issue has afflicted many customers and the Support Team is close to publishing the fix for it, pending extensive QA testing.

Keep up with the latest on this issue here: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH222397

    Thanks, Y'All!  :-)

This has now been fixed, see here:

Exported client packages with full content do not contain full Virus and Spyware Definitions content.
