  • 1.  installing and registering Brightmail virtual appliance

    Just a tip to anyone struggeling with the install.

    Dont use IE 7 or 8.  It just doesnt work with those properly.
    As soon as I switched to Mozilla firefox all worked swimingly

     Have to applaud Symantec for creating a control panel that works in Firefox/Safari/Opera et al :D

    But its working for me in IE8

    Hi,

    there are some issues with IE8 and is not supported at the moment. This article covers the topic:

    The SBG installation Guide is the document that includes the list of the supported browsers.

    I also struggled to get the license file imported once installation of the  VM guest was completed. I was attempting via IE8 with both compatibility mode on and off, everytime I clicked on any link after logging in, it took me right back to the login screen.

    I installed firefox, and BAM! (this ones for you Billy Mays)...... it worked fine.
