You dont need to do separate
You dont need to do separate installation for media server.
Netbackup master will act as media server to by defult.
thanks for you suppot
Dear Sriram,
first of all thank you for your support and response really i appreciate that very much.
second after i installed the master/EMM servers on windows 2008 server i tried to configure the the robot but
while the configuration i get the message oprd status code 69 and the robot is configured however when
i configure the the drives i don't get any messages and the drives are configured successfuly.
do you have any idea why that happen.
Thanks
You get a status code of 69
You get a status code of 69 when a request cannot be sent to VMD (Volume Manager Daemon) or OPRD (Operator Request Daemon)
Now can you increase the verbosity in vm.conf file as VERBOSE = 5 and create the following directory:
install_path\volmgr\debug\daemons
install_path\volmgr\debug\daemon
install_path\volmgr\debug\tld
install_path\volmgr\debug\vmd
install_path\volmgr\debug\tpcommand
Then
If you are able to see the robot and the drives connected to the master server through device manager, then go to netbackup java gui and run Netbackup device configuration wizard which will help you to configure the robots and the drives. If this fails again with error 69 then you have to see the detailed debug logs to identify what exatly is the problem.
Let me know what youget afet trying these above options
Solved

Regarding the oprd code 69 problem i did what you told me as i removed both the robot and drives that i created then
used the device config wizard and it configured both the drives and therobot with out any error messages.
