Hi All,

We just upgraded from 9.1 to 11d and of course been getting errors after backup jobs that says we need to upgrade the agent and that the old one is not compatible. My real question is...do we need to uninstall the old RANT32 agent before installing the new one? If so, how do we do this? Via control panel/add remove option? If I wanted to write a script/batch file, what's the command to uninstall. I know it's something like: setupaa.cmd -u

Any help would be much appreciated since I cannot get throught to tech support and they haven't called back within their agreement period.

Thanks,
Nelson

Hi,

After upgrading to 11d, you will need to re-push (i.e reinstall) the remote agents on all the remote servers.

Refer to following article in this regard:

http://support.veritas.com/docs/274163

(The version of the filr beremote.exe should be the same on all servers.

Thanks,

Thanks for the response, but I'm referring to clients or workstations and not servers. I already know how to push install to Servers. With the upgrade, 11d does not backup our XP workstations because they have the old agents installed. Please advise.

Hello,

Yes, it is required to update the remote agents after an upgrade.

You can install it manually on the remote workstations.

Please refer the following technnote:
