We're deploying our first 64-bit Win 7 Pro machine.   We want to install SEP 11.0.7 as an unmanaged client from the full download file from fileconnect - not using the SEPM.

Is the SEP client installer in the full distribution file from fileconnect smart enough to detect the 64 bit machine and do a 64 bit install of the SEP client and LiveUpdate?

We're looking for a yes or no answer to the above question - if the answer is no, is there a workaround to install directly without building an install package using the SEPM?

Inside the ISO that you download from FileConnect, there folder called SEP x64. This contains the unmanaged SEP 64bit client install. Install this one and you should be good to go.

File connect download will include all of the following:

- SEPM installer

- SEP 32bit client installer

- SEP 64bit client installer

- SEP for Macintosh installer

...no need to create an install package from SEPM, just choose the appropriate installer if you need only the unmanaged version of the client.

So, is the 64-bit client installer in the folder called SEP 64?   Is there anything I need to do (like change the download directory to SEP 64?  Or, just run setup.exe from the SEP 64 folder?

Just run setup from the SEP x64 folder and walk thru the install

Yeah, thats it - just run the setup.exe.

Yes. You can simply install setup file on win7 clients.
