I'm not sure if this has already been covered. I've searched the forums already and I've found nothing like it already.
Now what I'm trying to do here is to boot a motherboard we have attached to the network. This motherboard has no hard drive, cd-rom drive or USB connections. Which means it will need to boot off of a network partition installed on the PXE server.
Now I've already created my own Suse Linux boot disk, it isn't fully functional yet, it boots, I get to the install screen and then when I try to install, it crashes. This is ok for the moment, but I had to add each file individually to the Boot Disk Creator configuration.
Is there a way I can use the mapped drive (F
that the Windows Deployment Server to handle the installation of Suse Linux and then boot from that drive every time it loads??
Also, is there an easier way to make an image of the Suse Installation?? Or does it have to be copied from a current installation under control by the Altiris Client?
I hope this makes sense, it's an ambitious goal.
If I can't get it working with the Altiris program, I'll have to use Suse as the PXE server for the company instead, this should be much easier.
