Installing Symantec Endpoint Protecton Manager on different computer

Created: 03 Apr 2013 | 6 comments

I have SEP 12.1.1.  If I install the SEPM on a different computer, can I just restore the database from my current environment to the new computer?  If so, will I have to make any changes to my clients?

My current environment is acting very flaky (hard drive starting to fail) and I am not sure that I would be able to do a proper migration.  It would be much easier just to install the software somewhere else and restore the database.

Any suggestions?

Yes you can restore the whole setup....

Ensure that you install new SEPM with same encryption password ,IP address and host name as old one.

Follow the following DR document.
