  • 1.  Installing on W7

I have just upgraded two computers to W7.  In both cases when trying to install the SEP client the install gets to the point of copying files, then automatically backs out.  I have tried installing a locally managed client directly from the CD, and a managed client from the server - both fail to install.  Is there an additional issue I need to be aware of for W7?  I am currently using 11.0.4.

The Compatible Version of Symantec Endpoint on Windows 7 is 11.0.5 (MR5/RU5/11.0.5002.333)
Which you can download it from https://fileconnect.symantec.com

Best thing is to go with the latest version(11.0 RU5).
One of its feature is that it supports Microsoft Windows 7 (all editions except for Itanium)

Try to install as an unmanaged client and check the installation logs

I exported a AV only (not a single exe file package) from SEPM and installed it from those files on a Win 7 64 bit laptop.

We have a couple Win 7 machines, both 32 and 64 bit, that are running SEP RU5 just fine.  If you're still having trouble, was a previous A/V product installed prior to the Win 7 upgrade or was it a clean install?
