Has anyone installed WF 7.1 on Windows Server 2012? I'm trying to move my projects over but when trying to open the projects it's giving me a "This system cannot find the file specified" error. When I open the location it's pointing to the correct folder.
Thanks
Are you literally copying/moving the directories, or are you packaging the projects and then opening them on the new server?
I copied the projects in the WorkflowProjects folder over. If I open the project file directly it crashes Workflow Manager.
Sorry to ask the obvious question but is UAC still active and if so are you starting Workflow Manager with the run as administrator option?
I just checked the release notes for 7.1 SP2 and it does not show 2012 in the supported OS list. http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC4796 I don't know if that matches your version exactly but I think That was the last significant release for 7.1?
I managed to get it to work and it opens the projects properly but now I'm having the licensing issue for Service Desk projects. I can't see Service Desk under the Installed Applications in the License Status Manager like I do on my 2003 server. Any one have any idea how to fix this?
Hi Lark,
2012 is not on the list but I'm hoping there is a way to get it to work as I don't want to have our Data Centre team spin up a 2008 server when they're trying to get everything on 2012. Hopefully someone has got this to work before.
This is just a guess, but check the Plugins folder under the Workflow install directory of the "former" server for a plugin DLL. If it's there, copy it over to your new server (I'm foggy on this, I can't recall if the plugin architecture changes for SD for this)
I have the file SD.Licensing.dll copied to C:\Program Files\Symantec\Workflow\Server Extensions\Plugins\SD.Licensing.dll and I thought that should have worked as that's what I did before on the 2003 server. Are you no longer with Symantec anymore reecardo?
Nope, no longer with SYMC :(
Check your SMP connections in Workflow Explorer. If I remember correctly, SD licensing communicates with the SMP to determine if you have a valid SD license (I could be wrong though)
That's too bad reecardo, you were always helpful on this forum and Symantec lost a good resource. I managed to get the license sorted out for the Service Desk projects. We've moved on to ServiceNow so this is mostly for our workflows we haven't converted over yet.
