  • 1.  Installing Workflow Designer on a Client Machine

I have my workflow server setup and running. I now want to setup my Windows 7 client up with just the designer so I don't have to remote into the server to work on workflows. My install keeps failing at the end with the following error below. Any idea on how to fix this? IIS is installed on my laptop and the default app pool is configured to use the Altiris Service account for the identitiy.

System.Exception: Error setting permissions for user 'IIS APPPOOL\Classic .NET AppPool' to 'C:\Program Files\Symantec\Workflow\Shared' ---> System.Security.Principal.IdentityNotMappedException: Some or all identity references could not be translated.

Try changing the app pool id to the users domain account (or local account if not on a domain).

Be sure you have IIS 6 installed.  I ran into a similar issue and found Workflow isn't compatible with IIS 7, yet.

Thanks yliquor. I didn't have all the IIS stuff installed that was needed. That did the trick!

I forgot to mention in my post that the machine I installed the designer on had to be a client machine of the SMP server to get a license for the client install.
