  • 1.  Instant eXpress share transfer for DS

I am trying to run a Scripted OS install at a site other then the one the DS is located at.  Is there any way to force the temp files to copy to another location as soon as they are created?  Meaning, when a Scripted OS Install is going on, it creates 3 temp files in express share\temp.  I need to copy these temp files to the second site so that the scripted OS install will work correctly.   I have a copy of the eXpress share at the second location (manual copy) so that it will pull all the i386 information locally but in order to do this, I have to use a different mapping for the folder location for the eXpress share (the manually created one).

I.E. default express share is: Spaz\Express, the manual share at the second site is Spaz2\Express.  So instead of mapping to Spaz\Express for all the DS stuff, i map to Spaz2\eXpress.

This allows me to use a local express share to do almost everything.  My only problem is copying files that are created directly on the DS server (usually temp files).

    Any help is much appriciated.

    Hello check the following document:

It will give you an idea how to configure a second express share.

I can only assume that was the wrong document.  The section under replicate just say basically you should already have this in place.  The only problem with that document is it doesn't work with Scripted OS Installs (SOI).  The SOI must use the express share to get all it's data, or at least I haven't figured out a way to get it to use a different folder (I have tried using someone else's article on a fast SOI but have not been able to get it to work).  This is why I need to replicated temp files created on the express share.  I should also introduce another problem.  I have a second, seperate DS install on the server I want to use.

So the only solution for me to is to automate the duplication of the temp folder to the other site.

I will say that I may end up using the information from that document for another project but it does not help for replication or for SOI.  Thanks.
