Instead of Yellow Triangle on initial deployment pxe boot I am getting dagent preboot options menu

  • 1.  Instead of Yellow Triangle on initial deployment pxe boot I am getting dagent preboot options menu

Sometime last week, my DS 6.9 SP5 decided it didn't want to do initial deployments anymore and when it booted to PXE. It now displays dagent preboot options wanting to copy a machine after booting to PXE. I want that turned off and back to getting an initial Yellow triangle in Deployment Console instead of this. Does anyone have any ideas on how specifically to do this?

Tech support has had me rebuild the PXE Image several times but it hasn't helped. I have been thru most of the settings and options and don't see anything that appears to turn this on or off. HELP!

    Mike,

Please try below steps and see whether it resolves the problem

    1. Go to Jobs pane and open “Initial Deployment” wizard. (Please find attached screenshot for more information)
    2. Click on Jobs tab
    3. Delete all Jobs present under Jobs tab and then click ok
    4. Now boot the client into PXE to get Yellow triangle in Deployment Console.

There are no jobs present in the Jobs folder already.

Also check Configurations, pretty much clear everything out of Initial Deploy.

If you can't get it to work, I'd suspect some database corruption; you can check out http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO3467 for instructions on how to create a new database and migrate *everything* over from your old to the new. If that doesn't work - or if you don't need *everything* and would feel more comfortable just exporting/importing jobs and computers, you can just follow the part on creating a clean database, and then import your jobs and computers.
