Hi all,

If a vPro capable computer has the IntelAMT disabled or even partly configured in the BIOS or the MEBx interface (via CTRL-P), what are the options to re-enable or reset this without a physical visit to the machine?

I have had a search of Symantec Out of Band Management and Intel documentation but can't seem to find a definitve answer on how to acheive this. The question applies to the following scenarios:

a) IntelAMT is disabled and the computer has the Symantec Management Agent installed and required Out of Band plug-ins -

• is there a way to use the agent to 're-enable' IntelAMT to allow initialisation?
• do the Intel OEM drivers and Intel MEI server need to be present to allow this?

b) IntelAMT is disabled but the computer does not have the Symanatec Management Agent installed or is in a bare metal state -

• does the process of remote setup and configuration 're-enable' IntelAMT and allow a computer to be initialised? 

Basically we have a customer who decided they didn't want/need out of band management and disabled IntelAMT on their entire fleet - now they want to utilise this functionality. Any info or insights greatly appreciated!
