Internal Error 36000
We have three Dell Latitude E6500 laptops that were given to the school district that I work for. We are trying to ghost them and we get an error (Internal Error 36000) everytime we try ghosting. We start up ghost and do a peer-to-peer one being the master and the other being the slave. After we slect the drives and click to start the ghosting we get the 36000 Error before the disk information is even sent. Any ideas on what maybe going on?
Here is the error log that we are geting.

We have tried running ghost and ghost -fni and getting the same error.
I've attempted to reproduce
I've attempted to reproduce this problem with both build 2113 (first release of Ghost Solution Suite 2.5) and 2165 (3rd live update), but cannot see the same behavior. It could be related to the use what looks like, from the environment, a USB disk with PCDOS running, but I wouldn't expect that to make a difference.
This looks like a bug in ghost. Could you please drop me a line to robert_chester at symantec dot com and I can provide you with a diagnostic build of ghost to attempt to resolve the problem.
Alternately, if you need something sooner, you could try using Ghost32 with WinPE for the peer to peer operation. There are enough environmental differences between DOS & WinPE that this operation may well succeed with Ghost32.
SATA?
Do the latitudes have SATA hard disks?
If so, a DOS boot will be unable to see the disks as DOS does not understand SATA.
Check the bios for an option which places the hard disks into "Compatibility Mode" and see if that makes any difference.
Or try WinPE, which does understand SATA disks.
If your issue has been solved, please use the "Mark as Solution" link on the most relevant thread.
WinPE
The drive were SATA drives. We tried the WinPE that you suggested but that did not work either and unfortunately the error file was not saved to the usb disk that we were using. It must have been saved to the x drive that it was using in the WinPE. We didn't find that out until after getting the ghosting to work by sending the image to our network by mutlicasting. I know this doesn't help you by not having the error log but I just wanted to let you know that WinPE did work.
Thanks for the information.
Thanks for the information. I'm glad to hear that you got it working with multicast & WinPE.
I'll keep an eye out for similar behavior with peer to peer in DOS or WinPE.
Cheers, Robert.
