I have norton internet security installed on my laptop which I purchased in July 2011. I have bought a new laptop can I reinstall it on this one? If so, I do not have a cd drive on the new laptop. Please advise.
Thank-you

That could be difficult. But how can a new laptop come without a CD drive? did you opt no to get one? If so, then won't you have problems with many other applications as well?
If you dont have a CD drive, you can copy the setup files on to a pen drive and try to install it from pen drive, you can also download it from symantec site.
I am not sure, but wouldn't that be impossible for NIS? For SEP, yes he can do it. Is it possible for NIS?
Any luck?

It is not uncommon for Ultrabooks and Netbooks to not have internal optical drives.
As mentioned above, download the installer from http://us.norton.com/downloads/
Or, copy the setup.exe from a setup CD to a USB drive and copy to your new laptop and run.
Then:
1. Make sure you have your product key for the install on the new laptop before proceeding.
2. You should uninstall the existing NIS first while connected to the Internet.
3. Then re-install to the new laptop.
Oh good to know.
As mentioned, you have to make sure that NIS is uninstalled from the old laptop. Also if you have some trial AV on the new one, make sure you remove that as well.
@ Matilda, Please post Norton issues in the Norton Community. This forum is for Enterprise Product support.
@ Prachand, Unfortunately I have no way of moving this thread to the Norton Community, as they live on two different platforms.
