I have SPAM from my own mail address. I recieve a lot of SPAM from JhonDoe@example.com.ar and that is my address.

What policy of Messanging Gateway 9.5.1 may prevent this?

    Thx!

    Blacklist your domain

But, If I do this, and I want to send a email to my self, there will be any problem?

    Thx!

If you use an application from OUTSIDE your network, that lets you claim to be any sender, then yes, this will cause a problem.  This would occur if you are using a webpage that lets you send a copy of an article as to a friend and asks you for your (sending) e-mail address.

So, when you talk about black list, you talk about Local bad sender domains right?

    Thx!

I suppose that, If I use OWA there will be no problem, right?

    Yes, local bad sender domains.

I would certainly hope that OWA isn't routed through the Messaging Gateway. It should be an Exchange server that sets up the session just like if you were using an Outlook client.

TSE-Jdavis, when I try to add my domain in the Local bad sender domains, its say that is already on the list... But, I can't see it. What can be causing this?

Your best bet would be to create an SPF record on your external DNS server for example.com.br that lists out the mail servers that are allowed to send as that domain.  Make sure to use '-all' to have any SPAM dropped.

I believe Brightmail has SPF turned on by default

If there is no email from outside your environment from your domain coming into the Symantec Messaging Gateway environment, then adding your domain to the Local Bad Senders list should be fine.

Otherwise, setting up SPF for your external DNS server is a more advanced solution. This will authenticate the domain.
