This issue has been solved. See solution.

Is it possible to search for all files with specific extension on network share?  i.e *.exe

Idea is to scan network drive, find all files with extension *.exe and provide info such as file created date, modified date, path etc.

I am using AeXAuditPls.exe to create ini file with required options and settings. Inventory file on client is created under Express folder. How to load these files on NS ?

That would bre really tough

That would bre really tough to create as a task. Every machine that runs the ivnentory would scan the network drives which could be alot of redundancies. Why not just create the inventory tasks on the servers and target those path that are shared?

Solved

Standard Software Inventory job checks exe file on all of the drives so i had to just edit ini file with Altiris Audit Plus Ini Editor and run job. The only issue is it does not provide correct date reflecting correct timezone, Symantec support says this is by design and this is how file info stored in OS (UTS/GMT time).

Also, This takes while if network share is massive and no way to filter files modified or created after certain dates. But it has server purpose.

Thanks
