    Hi

    We using Inventory solution 7.1 sp2 b

    In computers with duplicate serial number drill down it showing None, OEM, System Serial Number, To be filled by OEM etc

    When we drill down the report it showing attach result instead of proper serial number

    what to do to get proper serial number

    First of all you need to check that the serial number is actually in the BIOS of a PC that's showing one of these entries, if it's not then Altiris has no way of reading it unless you can scan in barcodes.

    To add to Andy's comment the biggest offenders on computers with missing BIOS hardware/serial # information is computers that have had the mainboard replaced.  99% of the time the factory techs who do this work do not (or cannot?) add the proper model and serial # info back in.

    If you find this to be the case perhaps you can work with your hardware vendor to get this information placed back in when the devices are serviced.
