Hi,

How do you invoke the gui on the leopard server backup exec client? I couldn't find any docs.

Thanks!

There is no GUI on the Remote

There is no GUI on the Remote Agent for MAC Systems (RAMS)
if you open a terminal screen and and grep for beremote processes you should find it running and you use the console on the Windows based media server to configure the backup.

If you don't see your Leopard system in the backup selection list then either the agent is not installed/running or you may not have configured the agent to advertise/publish to the media server.

Please be aware Snow Leopard is not yet supported you only mentioned Leopard so I assume you are on the supported version. :)

Thanks Colin.  It is a 10.5.8

Thanks Colin.  It is a 10.5.8 server. I asked our backup systems admin to check for me.

If that 10.5.8 running on

Well 10.5.8 will give you problems anyway as the SCL documents for Backup Exec 12.5 and 2010 both specify support up to 10.5.5 and I am pretty sure we don't currently work properly on 10.5.8

Out of interest are you running 10.5.8 running on Intel processor or PPC? - reason for question is we are currently working on an Intel Only Snow Leopard (10.6.x) update for BE 2010 but currently may not work on the 10.5.8 version at  all (decision still pending) as such it may be that that last PPC version of OS X that is supported would be 10.5.5 and that Intel customers running OS X will have to wait for us to release the update that we are working on for Snow Leopard - which might put you between a rock and a hard place if you are on PPC on 10.5.8.

Yes, I installed two clients yesterday, both are Intel Xeons  One is a dual-core and the other a quad-core.
