  • 1.  IPS Signature has not updated

    We have SEP 12.1 deployed to all clients on the network.

    We have a Windows 7 Pro machine which doesnt get switched off (due to its purpose of use) where the IPS Signatures have not updated since 20/06/2014

    On the machine itself, everything appears as green and updated with no issues.

     

    Is there automatic way to update the IPS signatures on the machine without a restart?

    It is only the one machine that is having the issue. This machine manages the amount of time employees are in the building which reflects the amount they get paid at the end of each month, the system is also critical for the when swipe card are used to get round the building.

    How many system having problem ? What exact sep version are you installing ?

    Please restart one or two client and check it's updated or not ?

    You can update Network-Based Protection (IPS) from the below link manually.

    You need to click on download option below "Network-Based Protection (IPS)" that will redirect you to the b link : http://www.symantec.com/security_response/definitions/download/detail.jsp?gid=ips

    Click on 20140815-011-IPS_IU_SEP.exe Save the file on your desktop and run it.

    Note: Use the .exe for SEP clients.

    You can remove the defintion and wait for the new update either install it manually
