IPv6 - LiveUpdate

Created: 16 May 2013 | 3 comments

Good Afternoon,

Does Symantec LiveUpdate support IPv6 or is it still IPv4 only.

Referring to Tech Article 174897 which hasn't been updated since 2011, was wondering if anything changed since then.  Does anyone know if it's in the works or a roadmap on when it'll go Live?

Thanks,

Buggin

As up till current version 12.1 RU2 MP1 nothing changed since the article you have mentioned:

IPv6 is currently not supported for any communication between the different SEP components themselves.  All client - manager, console - manager, manager - manager traffic as well as LiveUpdate is all still based on IPv4.

There is currently no official ETA for any extended support of IPv6 in coming SEP releases- is planned definitely for the future, we just need to wait.

"Thumbs up" to SebastianZ's post.  Here's a link to that article mentioned above, which contains more info on IPv6. It is still accurate/will be updated when any change comes about.
