Is this in regards to DLP? Need to know which forum to move to...

Blackjet..

How did you purge the incidnets in the DP console?

Please make sure to mark this as a solution

to your problem, when possible.

Hi Blackjet,

ORA-00600 errors are issues with the database.

http://www.orafaq.com/wiki/ORA-00600

Possible causes include:

  • time-outs,
  • file corruption,
  • failed data checks in memory, hardware, memory, or I/O messages,
  • incorrectly restored files
  • a SELECT FROM DUAL statement in PL/SQL within Oracle Forms (you have to use SELECT FROM SYS.DUAL instead!)

Are you running out of space in the DB? Have you had any other issues with the database server? Can you do a memory test on the server? Do you see any other issues in the syslog/event log?

If you review these logs: f:\oracle\diag\rdbms\protect\protect\trace\protect_ora_6316.trc, you should get more details about the nature of the error.

Best,

Ryan

Hi All

The issue was when we used the command line.

The purging of incidents was done first from console , then from database to recover space.

1. Cold back was perfomed .

2.Certail command for database to create dump files and then purging of space.

I would request please perform coldback before perfoming purging activity.

windows> sqlplus / as sysdba
sql> drop user protect cascade;]

Due to which all privilege of protect was lost , as database recognises Protect as everthing.

Due to which database was corrupted  and we have to restored the database from cold back , after which issue was resolved , as symantec support had no other alternative.

Thanks all for your support.
