This issue has been solved. See solution.

I've had a strange issue with importing a PST file into a vault mailbox today.

We imported a 3GB PST file imto a mailbox.

Almost all the mails in the PST file where either in the INBOX or SENT ITEMS.
We selected the following options:
1. creating a shortcut
2. create shortcuts under the root folder
3. merge

When the PST was imported the shortcust where created in various folder under a 'Lost & Found' folder in the mailbox.

Any idea why this would happen?

Regards
Mark

Did you opt to create a migration report, and was a report file generated?  That might have some more information in it.

Hope that helps,
