  • 1.  Issue to install SEP 12.1.6318.6100 in Windows 10 Enterprise

    Hello all,

    I´m testing some devices and when I try to install SEP 12.1.6318.6100 I receive a message like below (translated from Portuguese):

    "This application cannot be executed in this device. The Symantec Endpoint Protection doesn´t work in this Windows version".

    I´m trying to install it using right version (64 bits) and with admin rights. Same file works properly in Win10 Pro.

    I guess that could be some conflict with Windows Defender but I didn´t find anything related in the Internet.

    May you help me?

    SEP client does not install after applying Microsoft patch KB3140743

    FIX ID: 3919824

    Symptom: After applying the Microsoft patch Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 (KB3140743), released March 1st, 2016, the Symantec Endpoint Protection client does not install, and then rolls back.

    Solution: Fixed the interaction with Windows Defender to ensure that the installer succeeds.

    You can try removing this KB or try the latest version, 12.1.6 MP5. This was fixed in 12.1.6 MP4.

    Hello Brian,

     

    Thanks for your feedback.... Really the problem is regarding this KB or Windows 10 Enterprise build 1607, unfortunately I didn´t find a way to remove it.

    As my company still will take couple of weeks to upgrade our SEP servers to MP5 version, I installed Windows 10 Enterprise build 1511 and then MP4 worked fine.
