    Good morning Admins

    Brand new issue with PM email notification where the sender's email address is shown as FROM address:

     

    From: anjurasool@gmail.com
    Sender: noreply@connect.symantec.com
    
    To: Marianne van den Berg
    Subject: New Symantec Connect private message: ORACLE DB PERFORMANCE ISSUE DURING BACKUP
    Sent: May 14, 2013 05:15
    
    
    Hi Marianne van den Berg,
    
    This is an automatic reminder from the site Symantec Connect Community. You have received a new private message from Nayab.Rasool.
    
    To read your message, follow this link:
    .......

     

    Now, I send about 4 PMs a day to users with a request to follow up on unresolved forum posts.

    Does this mean that my email address is now sent to all of them?

    This guy also sent 2 PM's to me.  The initial notification comes from noreply@connect.symantec.com.  The second one comes with his e-mail address.

    I will not be sending or replying to PMs until we have confirmation that our email addresses won't be sent as part of the notification!

    The notification for your PM was fine.

     

    I only received the one email this morning that showed sender's email address.
    Gave me enough of a scare not to send or reply to any PMs today!
     
    I have purposely disabled emails in Connect....

    Hi everyone. At this point it looks to be an isolated case(s). However, if you see something again, please let me know immediately and I'll take it to the developers.

    I had a notification of a private message this morning which was addressed as the users e-mail:

    noreply@connect.symantec.com; on behalf of; anjurasool@gmail.com

    So this is the same as Marianne reported - even the same user - LOL!

    Hi everyone. I think I've solved this. ;D

     

    In your profile there is an option for private messages to be sent from your personal email address. This user has this checked. (It is unchecked by default.) This is why you can see his email address.
