  • 1.  Issues when upgrading OS?

    Posted Sep 20, 2010 04:21 PM

I am running SEP 11.0.6 MP1 on Windows Server 2008 Std x64 SP2, and I am planning doing a simple in-place upgrade of the OS to Server 2008 R2.

Are there any issues I should be aware of wrt SEP 11 when doing this upgrade?  Is this discouraged/not allowed/just fine-n-dandy?  Thanks for any input.

I would remove SEP first. Then re-install after the upgrade.

On what are you basing this recommendation?

Database backup and upgrade if any issue you can re-install SEPM and restore the database which you have backup.

here is the backup doc of disaster recovery

There should not be any issues, from what I have experienced. However, to be on a safe side, make sure, you have your database backup, server certificate backup,  policies exported( so that  they  could  be  imported  later on, if required), and also, take the backup of the DB folder.
