  • 1.  IT Analytics Cubes stopped processing when AppID was modified.

    Posted Apr 22, 2014 07:48 AM

Back in February, our compnay forced us to change our password on the AppID account.  All functionality within SMP 7.1 MP2 is working well, with the exception of our IT Analytics Cubes.  The last processed on the day we modified the AppID and password.  No one seems to know where to go to get that functionality restored.

By logging in to the DB server, and selecting a cube and kicking hte process off manually, I can see diagnostics telling me there is a "Logon Failue: unknown user name or bad password".  Of course that one error triggers a whole sereis of errors.

Question is:  Where do we provide the AppID information to ensure that the Cubes start processing again.  Right now we're two months behind in data that can be autlomatically retrevied using cubes.

There has to be one or two more "invisible" places where the AppID information needs to be updated for the IT Analytics part to work.

Any tips/tricks or just magic would be appreciated.

    Hi,

I would start by resetting the Analysis connection, In the console go to Settings / Notification server / IT Analytic settings. Next on the left side choose the Configure pane and under Analysis server click the edit pencil. Verify connection this should reset the connection with the new account password. Also under the Reporting server section choose the Authentication Type edit pencil and retype the password or select window integrated if that's configured. You can verify the account has access to the reports datasource by accessing the report manager URL default is http://SQLSERVER/Reports then open the report folder and navigate to the Datasource container. Here you'll see the credential settings and a verify button make sure you have access here.
