We have Symantec IM proxy in one of our customers network, when user try to chat using jabber client. it is not working properly., any inputs will be appreciated..

You say that it is not

You say that it is not working properly. Can you describe what you mean by this?

Also, did you follow the steps in Appendix E of the Implementation Guide? Are you using Jabber 3.2?

Jabber IM needs more then just IM Manager

Jabber IM for IM Manager requires a very specific Jabber IM server to already be in your environment in order to work.

You have a working Jabber XCP server running that users are connecting to for Jabber communication.  Once that is done, you can configure IM Manager to handle Jabber traffic and direct the end users to IM Manager and then to the internal Jabber server.

Hi,

If it is giving any problem in policy then, then check ur proxy configurations. U might have blocked the access to jabber server, In previous company even I was using Jabber client.....but we had novell netware as proxy server....I'll get in touch with my old team mates and will get back to u for sure
