  • 1.  Java Runtime Environment speeding up system time

I have a server that runs Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager, and as we all know the console runs in Java. I have the latest (6.0.210) installed, although I've also tried it with older versions and have been met with the same result. The problem is as soon as I open the SEPM console, the system time will increase 3-4 seconds each minute, until I close the console, at which time the speed goes back to normal, and once I resync the clock, all is good. It's driving me insane. Has anyone seen this happen or something similar? Any suggestions? Thank you

I believe this should go to the Endpoint Protection forum.

Helpdesk is for the Altiris Helpdesk product.  I've moved your thread.

A point of clarificaiton: do you have SEP 11.0.x or SEP Small Business 12.0.x?  Are you using the manager console local on the server on which it is installed, or via the Java remote console?  Which operating system?  Anything in your event logs?

In all honesty, I have never heard of this before.
