  • 1.  Job in Initial Deployment won't start

    Hello,

    We have a deployment job which we want to distribute to our clients by Initial Deployment.

    Unfortunaly, it won't start. If we deploy the job manually in PXE Automation, it starts right away.

    Our job contains two tasks: 1. Deploy Image, 2 Shutdown.

    We have tried it with known and unknown clients. This is very annoying.

    Please, help us.

    We are using both SMP 7.0 and 7.1, but, seperately from each other in different networks.

    If a machine is known to Altiris then it will not display or push the initial default selection deployment.

    Can you provide more detail on how you are getting into pxe and what you are doing from there?

    Are you booting (NIC PXE f12) into pxe or are you using a task from deployment to boot into pxe?

    Why is Altiris sometimes so annoying?

    I fixed it with a different, shorter, name for the initial deployment task.

    Et voila, working.
