Created: 12 Jan 2012 | 8 comments
Hello,
I have issue with DS6.9 and Win7 computers, if I run a job (not automatized) the job is visible in task manager but never comes up.
Regards.

is that it won't show things run in the Local System context (used by default by altiris) in the visible user session. I'm not even sure it will show even if you run it in the context of the user.

When working on XP, we can use altiris (NS or DS) to run interactive installation, with a local system account, and interact the current normal user.
It is not possible any more with Win7. Seems the user must be admin for being able to interact a process with admin right...
That is a problem: And we need to find a workaround for such. Perhaps a "run as" with elevated rights? using the current user context instead of local system...
Not sure current problem you talk is the same:
* Is the job is configure using "current user" context option, instead of local system ?
* Is the job working correctly an XP client ?
* Is the Win7 x64 with UAC activated ? Try de-active ?
More detail please :)

* Is the job is configure using "current user" context option, instead of local system ?
=> works only if user is admin, my problem is for non-admin users (bank environnement).
* Is the job working correctly an XP client ?
=> Yes
* Is the Win7 x64 with UAC activated ? Try de-active ?
=> not activated

Too bad...
The elevation command line can perhaps be a solution, but no idea how (I am not the scriptor/packager in my company, I will ask them).
It was so nice, with XP, being able to run localsystem interacting normal current user. !!
I suggest you ask also Symantec support for a workaround, and keep us inform about ? Thanks

Sure will do, I am still searching and if I found any way to "fix" this, I'll let you know.
