Hello,
I'm currently running SEP v. 11.0,, we just renewed our support but ended up purchasing SEP SBE 12.0.
Will the install upgrade my current SEP or do I need to uninstall, install SBE 12.0 and then push back out to clients?
Thank you

See Migrating to Symantec
See Migrating to Symantec Endpoint Protection Small

You can install Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition client on the computers that currently run
Symantec Endpoint Protection client 11.x (enterprise edition). See “Installing the Symantec Endpoint Protection Small
Business Edition client” on page 45.

Thank you! If this is in the
Thank you!
If this is in the documentation and I missed, I apologize.
I just tried to run the SPE SBE setup and it tells me that the version on my machine is not able to be migrated.
My machine runs the manager, which I deploy the clients from. What do I do with my current install of SEP to get all the same settings to SBE? If I uninstall SEP, it's not going to pick up my settings, correct?
You will have to uninstall
You will have to uninstall the SEP 11 manager and then install the SEP SBE 12.0 manager. The SEP SEB 12.0 manager can simply be used to push out the client software and that will upgrade SEP 11.0 clients to SEP SBE 12.0 client.
You will need to recreate your groups and settings in the SEP 12 manager.

So basically nothing can be
So basically nothing can be backed up and restored to SEP SBE 12.0 Protection Center right?
In that case, what happens to the clients out there that I deployed from SEP 11.0?
You uninstall SEP 11 SEPM
You uninstall SEP 11 SEPM (completely), there is no policy/log migration support.
Install SEP SBE 12.0 SPC and push clients out to clients that have SEP 11 clients. The SEP 11 clients will be upgraded to SEP SBE 12.0 clients.
Best,
Thomas
Ok thank you.
Ok thank you.
After the upgrade...
If you have strange problems, like the server locks up mysteriously. or clients are disabled and can't be reenabled, or definition updates stop, consider uninstalling all Symantec products on all machines using the Symantec CleanWipe tool, then reinstalling SEP SBE 12.0 SPC on the server and pushing out the client to all machines again. I have had so much problems with upgrades that I will never perform a Symantec upgrade ever again.
