    Posted Aug 26, 2013 03:47 PM

just updated from 12.1.1000(?) to 12.1.3000, now all clients have progressively gone to an offline status.

clients are updating policies and definitions correctly, but the status in SEPM is wrong.

    any ideas?

    on the client

    start - run

    smc - stop

    smc -start

    open the client SEP interface

under help and support does it show offline or server name?

Because they go offline when you do the upgrade. They should be checking in but may need to give it some time.

    Hello,

On what OS are you running the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager?

How many clients are offline in total?

Did you migrate any client machines to the Latest version of SEP 12.1.3 or just the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager?

Did you work on the article provided below?

Best practices for upgrading to Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.x

    Hope that helps!!

I am having the same problem...  I just upgraded to 12.1.3 from 12.1.1101.401 using the auto upgrade by dropping the new sylink into the current server.  The server upgraded fine, but now they are all showing offline for the past 14 hours.

They are current on the virus definitions, but the will not connect to the SEPM.  I have cycled services on the client machine as well as my SEPM. Policy Profile Update was done as well with no change.  I have SEVERAL more servers that I need to this upgrade and having them show offline is not good.

in the end, the symantec support person had us re-run the new installation database wizard.  you may need the correct database password you used during the first install of the database, but this corrected our issue.  the certificates and outdated sepm servers that had since gone offline were causing the issue.
