I try to backup GuestOS(Win2K3) on ESX 4.0 with NBU7.0 and found this error code, Pls advice

Logs needed

I'm a bit out of practice on the subject but I would recommend reviewing and posting the logs called "bpfis" and "bpbrm"

Log locations

Both logs "bpfis" and "bpbrm" are created on the media server (in this case it should be a windows server) typically in c:\program files\veritas\netbackup\logs\bpbrm and c:\program files\veritas\netbackup\logs\bpfis

If the directories are not there just create them then rerun the job. Like I said before I am a bit out of practice on this subject so if you are in need of solving it faster I would recommend opening a case with our support team.

I have the same issue :(

I do use NBU 7.0 to backup VMWare esx 4.0 virtual machines & I have the same error code:

Hi, With NBU 7 & VMWare 4.0

Hi,

With NBU 7 & VMWare 4.0 environment, We do not use Media server in this case, and backup host I specify the master server as backup host, is it ok?

Do we have to install NBU 7.0 client on Virtual center?

This guide solve my issue, but I saw that the backup job didn't use Fibre instead it used LAN in the transport type! When I specify SAN as the only transport type I got error code 6.

Error bpbrm(pid=3616) from client testnbu: ERR - Error opening the snapshot disks using given transport mode: Status 23.
Error bpbrm(pid=3616) could not send server status message
end writing
the backup failed to back up the requested files(6)

I think I should verify some terminology & topology for FT so I will disscuss more in a new thread. Thanks for help.
