Laptop won't boot after PGP WDE
Created: 28 Nov 2012 | 3 comments
We recently purchased a set of HP Elitebook 8570p laptops with windows7 64bit. I installed PGP 10.3 (64bit) and encrypted the harddrive. After encrypting the laptop boots to the Bootguard screen then resets. The bootguard screen stays active for just a moment but i can tell the line which normally says something like 'enter your passphrase' is garbled and not correct.
sometimes the laptop will hand after trying to reset and indicate it was trying to load Stage2.
Any suggestions? The laptops are fresh out of the box...

Are you correctly identifying your PGP version as 10.3?

Looks like I was wrong, we installed 10.0.2. It looked like we were downloading 10.3 from fileconnect but apparently not...
Any suggestion on where I can get a more up to date edition?
10.2.1 should be available at fileconnect if you are eligible for a free upgrade. If you believe you should be eligible and it is not there, I'd suggest contacting Customer Support. They are the people to contact for any licensing issues.
